Shannon’s Approach to Therapy

My goal as your therapist is to create a safe space for you to process and organize what might feel like a big, tangled ball of yarn right now: your life experiences, thoughts, relationships, and emotions. I’m ready to meet you wherever you are in your process with nonjudgmental grace and support. Together, we’ll notice your strengths and build on them so you can continue moving forward with a greater understanding of this version of yourself. 

My style is casual, and I approach my work by weaving best-practices and 15 years of counseling expertise into an approachable, safe relationship from which to share your worries and life experiences. I’m here to process the hard stuff with you, celebrate your wins, and probably share some giggles along the way too. With my adult and teen clients, I love taking walks during our sessions and collaborating on action plans to help you put into practice what you’ve noticed during our sessions. For my young clients, I utilize art and play therapy to create opportunities for them to express how their feeling in a way that is most comfortable for them.
